Give Your Life to God

How to Become a Christian?: Headliner

Becoming a Child of God

The Christian Faith rests on a simple truth: God glorifies Himself through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross to call humanity back unto Himself.  God's grace and mercy reach out to those willing to heed his call of salvation!

The Problem

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..."

(Rom. 3:23 NASB)

Humanity seeks ways to fulfill itself by any means, but in the end, all endeavors lead to emptiness and a sense of lacking satisfaction.  Selfish pride consumes us and distorts reality.

The Consequence

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord"

(Rom. 6:23 NASB)

Though circumstances appear well, the belief in eternity and existing beyond a corporal life on earth, the consequence of a life in sin leads to experiencing God's wrath against sin.

The Suffering Savior

"Being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed."

(Rom. 3:24-25 NASB)

Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, submitted himself to the wrath of God, taking upon himself the punishment for sins. In this propitiation, the Triune God calls humanity back to Himself.  God's love shines bright through the bare cross and the empty tomb.

Salvation is God's Work

"For the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus."

(Rom. 3:26 NASB)

When Jesus said, "It is finished," the declaration is that of an account paid in FULL.  No more debts; no more works needed.  By faith, everyone is welcomed into the Family of God!

Salvation By God Alone

"For 'Whoever will call on the name of the LORD will be saved.'"

(Rom. 10:13 NASB)

Jesus taught God's character and the perfect love He has for His children.  Much like a Father who hears when a child calls out for help, so too, God hears the earnest call of those who return to Him.

Now What?

The calling for every Christian is summarized in these verses:

“Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontal on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."

(Deuteronomy 6:4-9, NASB)

Spend time getting to know God's word; The Scriptures.

"And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

(Matthew 22:37-40, NASB)

Seek God to renew your mind and to love according to God's kind of love. Love even in the tough and difficult times, as God loves.

"And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

(Matthew 28:18-20, NASB)

Share your confidence and faith in God with those around you and pray for every man, woman, and child to receive the good news of God's perfect love and the sacrifice of Jesus for their sins and past mistakes.

WELCOME TO GOD'S FAMILY!
